Baltimore City youth participating in CITS programming with collaborate with key stakeholders in the city to use data to analyze and answer challenging social questions.
In collaboration with the Baltimore Hackathon, CITS will provide resources and support to a group of youth developers. This event is open to any Baltimore City youth.
As part of Arstcape, we provide free, interactive, educational activities for youth, and families, and give them the chance to have their video games displayed to an audience of more than 350,000.
To culminate our 5-week summer coding boot-camp, we will hold the first ever CodeWorks Hackathon.
Young women from across the city will convene for a day of free workshops, panels, and educational activities all related to CS.
In this free one day event, aspiring video game developers in 6th through 12th grade come together in teams to rapidly create a game based on a theme revealed the day of the event. The 2016 game jam attracted 60 youth from around the city, and provided them t-shirts, three meals, and prizes at the end of the event.
